Abstract

My abstract work is based on an idea I had, to reverse the average artwork. Turn the artist, into the art form itself. This concept was further developed to incorporate the theme ‘Beyond the Surface’, by creating a scenario whereby the artwork was actually breaking the barrier between the 2nd and 3rd dimensions. My original sketch for this piece is also actually pretty similar to the final work; however certain changes still needed to be made. Firstly, I simply couldn’t work out a way to locate or photograph a street which had the same vibe as the one in my initial sketch, but at the same time I wanted it to be based in real life. So, I had a great idea to model the street in 3D, thus giving me a great foundation to work from. From this all I would need to do is overlay sections of color, and the lighting would already be perfectly correct.
